“Land’s knowledge and passion for triathlon make him a valuable asset to athletes of all levels. He understands the importance of balancing work with rest, and training with everyday life. He’s the right coach to help any athlete achieve their goals!”
Michael Orendorff
Age Group World and National Champion Triathlete
“It’s not over-dramatic for me to write that Land was a god-send in my sporting life and then, because of what he brings to each client, a bonus benefit in other life areas. Every good coach should bring technical and physiology expertise to the training of his/her athletes. Land does that but what I found truly special about working with him is the full humanity of himself which he brings to and then the full humanity he elicits from his clients. This is subtle but definite. And cannot be done if he was just trying to create a coaching empire. His sport guidance has been great but just getting to know Land has been greater.”

“Eleven years ago I wanted to change from inline skate racing to running and needed to find a coach who valued my success more than his paycheck. Someone who customized my training instead of the “one size fits all” approach. That coach, who was also a champion in his own disciplines, was Land Heintzberger. Since trusting my athletic future to him, I’ve lived and trained in 6 countries and raced in 15 countries multiple times. I’ve competed in ultras in the Alps, the Himalayas, Croatian mountains, Jordain desert, Saharan desert, Myanmar, the Great Wall of China half marathon (800 runners and finished 176th overall), Indonesia, Jerusalem, in Spain on Team USA twice in the Duathlon World Championships and 1 in Canada. After finishing in the top 8th in National Championships, 3rd in my last Nationals, and 8th in the world in age group). I ran 3 races in Greece ( in the 5k there were 7500 runners, I finished 525th overall). My last race was the Vietnam Mountain Marathon. There were 1250 runners, I finished 112th overall. All this to say, if you want results without injuries, hire coach Land Heintzberger and put in the work!!! By the way, in January 2024 I’ll be 76. I turned 70 on the way to Mount Everest.”

“Land and I started training together in 2017 while I was ramping up for Ironman Lake Placid in 2018. This was my first full Ironman in 10+ years. In my first interaction with Land, he shared his approach on how an athlete and coach collaborate, plan, adjust accordingly, and set a course for success. As an athlete who hadn’t competed in 10 years, I was concerned about overtraining & injuries but still wanted to compete in each race. We had to find a balance. That year, I trained healthy, completed 2 half Ironmans, and had a PR at Ironman Lake Placid. Since then I’ve completed 10+ 70.3’s including qualifying & competing in 2 World Championships while maintaining my love for the sport and most importantly, staying healthy! Highly recommend any athlete, beginner to advanced, contact Land to begin your training journey!”

“Where to start about Land Heintzberger. First, Land has a passion for helping people achieve their fitness goals. He is a wonderful person, talented athlete and gifted coach. In 2009 Land coached me for my first full ironman. I had no idea what I was doing or what I was capable of. Land formulated a plan for my specific needs and goals. He took the time to get to know me as a person and as an athlete. Land was able to customize a plan that helped me accomplish a goal that I never thought would have been attainable. Land’s knowledge on the three disciplines of triathlon is unlimited. He is able to take that knowledge and apply it to all components of being an athlete, from nutrition to bio mechanics. Over the course of 6 months he completely changed my running style. His attention to the details of training and racing is impeccable and he continually strives to educate himself so he can be a better coach for his athletes. He is always has words of encouragement, especially on your hard days. I am blessed and privileged to work with a coach of his caliber.”
